Few digital healthcare agencies have in-house health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) teams. In response to recent growth in the development of data-driven digital applications that help commissioners and payers to visualise and interact with HEOR data, emotive have strengthened their team of health economics and market access specialists.
Before joining emotive, Trishal Boodhna earned a BSc in economics and an MSc in health economics, both at City University, London. His MSc project involved performing a health economic evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of different overactive bladder treatments available in the UK. After working at Moorfields Eye Hospital for 18 months as the in-house health economist, he returned to City University to complete a PhD in health economics and visual science. Part of Trishal’s PhD was published as a chapter within a National Institute for Health Research report that examined the cost-effectiveness of different follow-up schedules for monitoring glaucoma. Trishal has also presented and won awards at conferences for the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Trishal (image, right) joins a team led by senior health economist Sam Keeping (image, left), who has an MSc in health policy, planning and financing from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he is currently finalising a PhD. Sam previously held positions at Monitor and Sanofi Pasteur MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme). Since joining emotive in May 2014, he has played a key role in the delivery of a range of creative health economics solutions for a variety of pharma clients, across different markets and therapy areas.
